Rhythms as it gets blue....
AS REAL AS THE INSPIRATION.
I was parting braid hair when I first heard the melody.
R&B
It awakened in me something that was not born at the time. Feeling and relating to music that I had never heard before. I was irreplaceable like Beyonce and the best nobody ever had. At just less than 10, I could feel it; what it meant to be a person, what it meant to feel other people, what it meant to feel anything, what it meant to be a human being.
Tears flowed from unheard of rivers.
My veins along the rhythms convened the truth at the heart of my humanity in profound ways before I could spell the word profound. I know it now as I grow more than ever; there’s purpose in being human. It’s delicate, it’s fleeting, it’s profound in all the ways it’s simplistic because believe it or not an R&B album led me here.
It is hard to feel at place in a world that has no place for you, the real you, the raw you.
At the heart of humanity lies some consistencies, despite our art or war, there’s truths that remain to be true. The joy of humanity lies in the acceptance of humanity but so much comes in between us and truth that it is hard to know what to believe in. You can’t help but question yourself and only fear meets your truths. It is okay and natural for fear to meet your truths when you live in a world that doesn’t value honesty. It is okay.
In each of these words, however, lies such purpose, no lie, such essence that can’t be erased.
It is okay to maintain truth and vulnerability in all endeavours. It is okay to question shit and not know what’s up. That’s the route en-route the journey home.
This is nothing but a piece of the inspiration acquired. It is nothing but gratitude for the access to such beautiful art.
It’s a shit ton of peace packaged in pieces such as mine, inspired by albums such as Kehlani’s and packaged in the truth’s beneath each and every form of art. These heretics don’t lie, they grow.

I remember being 5 and hearing my slightly older cousins sing along to the rnb songs that played on the car radio, on our way back home after a long ass day, and there was something in me that was awakened.
